Lore
The Crimson Fleet doesn't retreat for repairs. The Anvil brings repairs to the fleet — welding hull breaches, replacing armor plates, and rerouting damaged systems while weapons fire passes overhead. The cargo hold carries replacement parts and raw materials. The three defense slots keep the Anvil functional in the combat zone where it operates. Anvil crews are the only non-combat personnel in the Crimson Fleet who earn combat honors — because they work in the same fire as everyone else, just with welding torches instead of weapons. The single weapon mount is "for morale," according to the ship's specification document.
