Lore
The Sovereign-class is the single most expensive vessel the Federation produces, and it is designed to make sure everyone knows it. Gold-laced circuitry, crystal viewports spanning entire decks, and shields that could weather a fleet engagement protect an interior that makes orbital palaces look modest. Six defense slots ensure the investment survives anything short of a coordinated capital assault. The Federation builds exactly one per fiscal quarter, and the waiting list is longer than some empires' ship registries.
