Lore
The Bastille solves a problem the Crimson Fleet finds personally offensive: enemies running away. The warp disruption field prevents jump drives from engaging, trapping everything within range in normal space. The Bastille's own defenses are unusually robust for a Crimson ship — three defense slots and solid shields — because the ship that prevents escape becomes priority target number one. Crimson Fleet commanders deploy the Bastille first and build their battle plan around it. The doctrine is simple: close the door, then light the room on fire. Nobody leaves until the fleet is done.
