Overmind

The Overmind-class carrier does not command its fighter wings. It thinks them. Each launched craft operates as an extension of the carrier's biological neural network, sharing sensory data and tactical intent across a substrate the Collective has never allowed outside researchers to examine. Pilots of the fighter wings report feeling "part of something larger" during operations. After docking, the feeling fades slowly. Some pilots find they miss it. The Collective considers this expected and says nothing further.
