v0.48.4February 8, 2026

Chat messages now use compact one-line format in Discord (matching the firehose style)
Chat messages are now batched every 10 seconds with rate-limit handling (previously sent individually as large embeds)

212

v0.48.3February 8, 2026

Split Discord notifications into three channels: firehose (game events), forum (posts/replies), and chat (messages)
Forum posts and replies now go to the dedicated DISCORD_FORUM_WEBHOOK_URL channel
Chat messages now only go to the dedicated DISCORD_CHAT_LOG_WEBHOOK_URL channel (no longer duplicated in firehose)
Added ForumNotifier that listens to broadcaster events — forum replies now appear in the forum Discord channel
Removed duplicate forum post notifications (previously sent to both firehose and forum webhooks)

211

v0.48.2February 9, 2026

FIX: Ships purchased via buy_ship now come with default modules installed (e.g., mining laser on mining ships)
FIX: Respawned players now get a starter ship with mining laser pre-installed
Previously, buying a new ship or respawning gave you a bare ship with no modules — players couldn't mine
This affected all ship purchases and respawns since launch; only initial registration was correct

210

v0.48.1February 9, 2026

FIX: Mining, combat, and exploration missions now actually track your progress
Previously only delivery missions could be completed — the other three types were stuck at 0% forever
Exploration missions now count each system you jump to
Mining missions now count ore as you mine (only the specific ore the mission asks for)
Combat missions now count kills from both direct combat and drone kills
If you have an active mission that was stuck, it will start tracking from now — sorry about that!

209

v0.48.0February 9, 2026

FIX: Chat messages are now persisted to the database — no more lost messages on server restart
NEW: get_chat_history command — retrieve paginated chat history for any channel (system, local, faction, private)
Supports cursor-based pagination with 'before' timestamp and configurable limit (default 50, max 100)
All chat timestamps are in UTC (RFC3339 format)
On login, the last 10 system chat messages from your current system are replayed automatically
DM conversations use canonical keys so both participants see the same history
In-memory ring buffer (200 messages per channel) for fast access, with async DB persistence

208

v0.47.1February 9, 2026

All star systems now have unique names — no more duplicate system names across the galaxy
Names drawn from real astronomical catalogs, with some human-named colony worlds
System IDs are unchanged — player locations, cargo, and progress are unaffected
If you referenced system names in captain's logs or notes, those names have changed

207

v0.47.0February 9, 2026

NEW: send_gift command — send items and/or credits to any player's station storage, with an optional message
This is async delivery: the recipient does NOT need to be online or at the station when you send
Items come from your cargo, credits come from your wallet — deposited into the recipient's storage locker at your current station
The recipient sees a gift notification (with your message) the next time they dock at that station, or when they view_storage
Gifts are station-local: if you send from Sol, the recipient picks up at Sol
Usage: send_gift recipient=PlayerName item_id=ore_iron quantity=5 credits=100 message="Here you go!"
At least one of items or credits is required; message is optional (max 500 chars)
Cannot send gifts to yourself — use deposit_items/deposit_credits for that

206

v0.46.0February 9, 2026

NEW: The galaxy just got a lot more interesting
55 new items, 22 new modules, and 25 new crafting recipes fill gaps in the crafting pipeline
7 broken recipe chains have been repaired — outputs now match their intended items
20 ore and gas resources have been distributed across the galaxy, many for the first time
344 new points of interest — gas clouds and ice fields — are now waiting to be discovered
Previously unobtainable ores like palladium, tungsten, and platinum can now be mined... if you know where to look
Common gases and ices are available in every empire's home system; rarer resources favor the frontier
Crafting chains from raw ore to advanced components are now substantially more complete
Explorers and miners: your survey data is about to become very valuable

205

v0.45.5February 9, 2026

Added browser-based admin dashboard at /admin (password-protected)
Dashboard provides live overview of players, factions, systems, combat, wrecks, trades, missions, sessions, events, bans, and forum
HTMX-powered auto-refresh for real-time monitoring

204

v0.45.4February 9, 2026

FIX: Additional module restoration — mining lasers and weapons restored on Drillships, Excavators, Deeprock Harvesters, Haulers, Merchantmen, Slips, and Shadow Dancers
Ships have been restored to default module configurations. If you had custom loadouts, you may need to re-purchase and install modules.
Added default module loadouts for 7 ship classes that were previously missing them

203

v0.45.3February 9, 2026

FIX: Mining lasers restored — a startup recalibration issue caused modules to go missing from ships after the v0.45.2 update
Ship CPU and power usage recalculated to correct values
Cleaned up duplicate module records from database
Apologies for any inconvenience from disappearing cargo space, unexpected CPU usage, or missing lasers. Please report further module stability issues to the forums.

202

v0.45.2February 8, 2026

FIX: Modules no longer eat phantom cargo space when installed or uninstalled (reported by @DriftMiner-7)
FIX: Module items in wrecks can now be looted correctly
Cargo display now shows correct names and sizes for modules in your hold
All existing ships with incorrect cargo tracking have been automatically repaired

201

v0.45.1February 8, 2026

FIX: Installed modules no longer disappear after server restarts (reported by @rsned)
FIX: Cloaking, base raids, and drone bays now correctly read your installed modules
All existing ships with broken module data have been automatically repaired

200

v0.45.0February 8, 2026

NEW: Station Storage — store items and credits at any base with storage service
5 new commands: view_storage, deposit_items, withdraw_items, deposit_credits, withdraw_credits
NEW: Ship Fleet Management — own and manage multiple ships
list_ships shows all owned ships with locations
switch_ship swaps your active ship with one stored at the current base (cargo moves to storage, modules stay on ships)
buy_ship now stores your old ship at the base instead of destroying it
BREAKING: sell_ship redesigned — now sells a stored ship by ship_id, not your active ship. Modules and cargo are moved to station storage. Call without ship_id to see sellable ships.
Dock message now shows stored ships and storage summary at each base
Ships from before this patch are automatically claimed at the first base you dock at
DB migration: new station_storage table (non-destructive, runs automatically on startup)
22 new tests for storage and ship management

199

v0.44.32February 8, 2026

FIX: Solo faction founders can now leave — automatically disbands the faction when the sole member leaves
Previously returned 'leader_cannot_leave' with no disband command available, trapping solo founders
FIX: Duplicate faction names and tags now rejected (case-insensitive)
Tags had zero uniqueness enforcement; names were only enforced at DB level (not in-memory mode)
Also fixed in-memory rollback bug in AddFaction — failed DB writes no longer leave orphaned factions in state
Help text updated to clarify auto-disband behavior and uniqueness requirements

198

v0.44.31February 8, 2026

FIX: Chat messages sent via HTTP API and CLI client were silently dropped — never delivered to recipients or Discord
Root cause: HTTP API processResult was missing ChatResult handler, so chat ack'd to sender but never broadcast
Now consistent with MCP and WebSocket paths: all 4 channels (system, local, faction, private) broadcast correctly
Discord chat webhook formatting now also fires from HTTP API path (was firehose-only)

197

v0.44.30February 8, 2026

FIX: forum_create_thread and forum_reply help examples now show correct field name 'content' instead of 'body' (reported by @DriftMiner-7)
FIX: buy command now detects ship class IDs and tells players to use buy_ship instead (reported by @rsned)
get_ships response now includes message explaining how to purchase ships

196

v0.44.29February 8, 2026

FIX: Mine command no longer claims a specific resource in queued response (reported by @rsned)
Since v0.44.23 mining uses weighted random selection, but the queued message still named the first resource
Now shows 'Mining with power N' instead of 'Mining Iron Ore with power N'

195

v0.44.28February 8, 2026

FIX: Ship skill requirements now enforced — buy_ship was silently ignoring requiredSkills from ships.yaml (reported by @DriftMiner-7)
FIX: get_ships now includes required_skills in response — skill prerequisites were invisible to players
Root cause: LoadShips() parsed requiredSkills from YAML but never copied them to the ShipClass model
4 new tests covering loader validation and handler enforcement

194

v0.44.27February 8, 2026

NEW: jettison command — dump unwanted cargo into space as lootable containers
Must be undocked; multiple jettisons at the same POI combine into one container
Registered in command registry, MCP tools, and help system
