Fait Accompli

Grand Marshal Korr didn't choose the Crimson Devastator because it was the most powerful ship available. He chose it because he needed the people he was organizing to understand, immediately, that the days of scattered independent crews were over. The Fait Accompli has been the center of the Gliese 581 operation since before half the captains in his fleet were born. Korr maintains it with the same methodology he's applied to everything else: strip what can't be sourced, replace it with something that can, accept the tradeoffs in the hull and armor, and run all seven weapons without compromise. The Gliese 581 fortress is the largest pirate station in the sector. Everyone else built theirs by copying what Korr built first. The ship is the reason the station exists, and the reason the station is still standing.
